THE SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION
The Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated each year for adult Catholics (who have been baptized and have received First Communion) ad for High School Students.
The preparation for High School Students is a two-year process which begins when a student is in the 9th grade or older. The Confirmation process includes faith development and education, faith sharing, Christian service, retreats, and community building. For more information, please call (949) 494-9701 and leave a message in our general voicemail box.
YEAR I
The first year of preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation includes faith sessions which cover the faith themes of Christian Morality, Beatitudes, Creed and Christian Service. The young people are asked to choose a Confirmation sponsor in this first year of the process. This adult must be a practicing Catholic and be fully initiated in the Catholic faith (baptized, confirmed, and able to receive communion). If this person is married, they must be married in the Catholic Church. They also choose the name of a saint with which they will be confirmed. We will help them in this process during the year.
YEAR II
The second year of preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation includes faith sessions which cover the faith themes of the Seven Sacraments (focusing on the sacraments of Initiation), the Gifts and Fruits of the Holy Spirit, and Discipleship.
During both years of the process the youth are asked to participate in Christian service projects and attend a retreat.
