Art & Environment
The goal for art and environment at St. Catherine of Siena Church is to develop our interior worship space and exterior church grounds in such a way that the faithful can experience worship more fully through symbolism and imagery. The committee is made up of parishioners who create design proposals and implement them for the various sacred seasons and solemnities as well as monthly care of sanctuary floral needs. This ministry is open to all members of the parish. For more information please contact the parish office.

Altar Servers
From apostolic times, altar servers have had a place in the celebration of the Eucharist as well as other liturgical rites. Altar serving offers young people the chance to actively participate in assisting our priests at the celebration of mass and is an effective way of deepening their understanding of the faith. The ministry of altar serving is open to all boys and girls of St. Catherine of Siena parish. Candidates must have at least received the Sacraments of Baptism and Eucharist, be able to attend scheduled training sessions and be available on a regular basis to serve at mass. For more information please contact the parish office.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Eucharistic Ministers of Holy Communion are called to take on Christ’s likeness and by strengthening their faith from within they may share it with the faithful at communion. This ministry is open to all members of the parish who are available to attend training sessions and be available on a regular basis for mass. For more information please contact the parish office.

Hospitality
Hospitality is a ministry of Christian kindness. It is an organized “friendliness” that focuses on the needs of the people from the time they arrive until the time they leave. It consists of groups of people who have the gifts and graces to express social warmth and are willing to commit their time and energy to provide consideration and generosity of spirit to all who come to St. Catherine of Siena Church. This ministry is varied and open to all members of the parish. For more information please contact the parish office.

Lectors
The Liturgy of the Word is not simply a reading, but an event, one that brings before the assembly the Word that God wants made known to us at that very moment. The ministry of a lector is to proclaim the Word of God with reverence so that the faithful may develop a love for the Scriptures. This ministry is open to all members of the parish who are available to attend training sessions and be available on a regular basis for mass. For more information please contact the parish office.

Sacristans
The ministry of the sacristan is one of many tasks. It is a work of integration and coordination, of giving attention to all God’s holy people gathered for liturgy and to the things they need for their prayer. It is the sacristan’s role to see to the consistent and proper handling of certain aspects needed for parish liturgy. This ministry is open to all members of the parish who are available to attend training sessions and be available on a regular basis. For more information please contact the parish office.

Ushers
Ushers are the initial face of Christ for those who gather together for worship. They are the first real presence of the community that one encounters and it requires a commitment to the community, to hospitality and to the building up of God’s kingdom. This ministry is open to all members of the parish who are available to attend training sessions and be available on a regular basis for mass. For more information please contact the parish office.

The Beatitudes
“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they who mourn,
for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the land.

Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be satisfied.

Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the clean of heart,
for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.

Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you [falsely] because of me.  Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven.”
-Matthew 5:3-12
